A co-op built on shared ownership.
Chetna Organic is a farmer-first cooperative based in India with a singular mission: to make small-scale cotton farming more sustainable, more profitable, and more dignified. Through education, fair wages, and collective ownership, Chetna has transformed what it means to grow organic cotton.
Pure Fiber chose Chetna not because of a certification checkbox — but because their model of farming is the only kind we want to build our products on. When farmers thrive, the cotton thrives. And when the cotton thrives, so does every robe we make.
Sustainable Farming Systems
Chetna trains farmers to work in harmony with natural systems — eliminating synthetic chemicals, conserving biodiversity, and building long-term soil health that makes each harvest better than the last.
Farmer Ownership
Chetna goes beyond fair wages. Farmers in the co-op have the opportunity to own shares in the manufacturing facilities — giving them real equity in the value chain, not just labor at the bottom of it.
Education & Self-Organization
Through structured knowledge programs, Chetna empowers farming households to advocate for themselves, negotiate collectively, and build generational resilience — not just season-to-season survival.
